He is Risen!

Okay, once again I am behind on posts...Well, It's good to be reminded that Christ died and rose for us!

Jaden apparently did not think Makayla could put the egg on the window without his assistance. At least this time Makayla didn't seem to mind his help!

All three kids helped with the decorating this Easter.

This is Easter morning! The Easter Bunny hid the kids goodies throughout the living room. It was a lot of fun for the kids to go on a hunt and fill their baskets. It brought back lots of memories of Easter hunts when I was a kid. Although, it is a bit colder around here and there are not many hunts outside here in Indiana...

I'm not sure if Jaden understood that he was supposed to find his goodies. He followed Jonathan around quite a bit...

The Easter Bunny made Makayla's goodies a litter easier to find than her brothers.

Of course Jonathan helped Makayla out with her hunt. He is such a good big brother!

Okay, I have photographic evidence that the kids were allowed to eat chocolate BEFORE breakfast...

Miss Makayla playing the starlet.

The more kids we add to the mix, the harder it is to get a picture of all of them looking and smiling at the camera at the same time. Jonathan was trying to help. I think this may get easier as they get older, I think...

I wonder if the dress really tasted that good...

Here is Jaden being sweet!

Spring is Here!!!

Okay, well spring got here a little while ago, but I have not had a chance to edit this post...It is so nice to see all of the flowers blooming and the grass turning green! God really gives us a treat as we move out of winter!

This is the Crab Apple Tree in our back yard. It almost looks like a big snowball! (But we don't want to talk about that "S" word do we?!)

Oh the colors of spring!

I love this Red Bud in our backyard. I can see it from the kitchen when I look out the window.

It seems so delicate.

Apparently Joe has trained all of the kids that they need to have a tube of Chap Stick in their pockets at all times...

Jaden, Makayla, and I made rice crispy treats as a "project" this morning.

This picture makes it look like they were so careful with the sprinkles.

These two picture shows what really happened. What ever sprinkles were left after eating were placed on the rice crispy treats...

This is another project we frequently do in the mornings to keep the kids busy.

I'm still working on getting Makayla to stop drinking the water...

Jonathan's 1st grade class took a field trip to Amish Achers this spring. We learned a lot about the Amish lifestyle. (I learned how I would not make it long in their culture...)

Jonathan and his classmate Josiah had a great time playing with the chalkboards.

Jonathan loves to pose for pictures!
Happy Spring!

Upward Basketball 2010

Jonathan played Upward Basketball again this winter. His team was called the Cougars. He was more focused and seemed to be catching on to how to play the game better this year! He was also closer to the same height as the other boys on his team this year.

He was still afraid to wear his glasses while playing...

Jonathan was much more aggressive with going for the ball. Not overly aggressive, it was more like he was realizing that he was supposed to try for rebounds and take the ball down the court.

Here is a picture of Jonathan shooting a basket!

I don't think Makayla was having as much fun at the games, especially when the snacks ran out!

Jaden was enjoying himself!

Of course one of the best parts of the whole season is at the end, when Jonathan gets his prize for playing. this year it was an indoor basketball set.

All three kids are having a great time with it!

I think Makayla needs to grow a few feet before this will work for her...

Jaden learned to duck after he throws the ball by using the "real" basketball and hoop in the garage. Yes, he has been hit a few times in the head...

I love this shot of Jonathan trying to slam dunk the ball!

Pinewood Derby Time!

Joe and Jonathan were putting the final touches on Jonathan's Pinewood Derby car right before the race. We were very thankful other Cub Scouts were willing to share some of their weights. (We apparently did not have enough added before we got there...)

Here is the final product! Jonathan did most of the work; helping cut the wood, sanding, most of the painting, etc. His design was based off of an Army Hummer he saw.

Jonathan was very proud of his car and we were proud of him and all of his work!

This is the line up from his troop.

When it was time to race, each Cub Scout placed their car on the starting line.

The track was pretty long. Here is a shot of Jonathan's car on the right track winning!

Here is a shot of Jonathan's car right before it crossed the finish line!

I thought it was cute watching the boys follow their cars and get so excited about the race.

Jonathan won 3rd place! He was so excited to get a trophy. His car is also being entered into the regional races on May 1st! We are so proud of our little Scout!

February 2010

We decided to have a few friends over to watch the Super Bowl. Beth and Scott brought Nicholas in his Colts outfit, so we had to get a picture of all of the miniature Colts fans! Let me tell you that trying to get all four kids looking in the same direction, smiling at the same time was a challenge. Maybe if the Colts had won, it would have been easier...

Jonathan had his very first Snow Day from school. We ended up only getting about 8 - 10 inches of snow and the road crews really kept the streets clean, but most of the schools closed anyway. The kids were really excited to get out in the snow and play!

This was really Makayla's first time in the snow to play. She was pretty happy about being dressed up and "released" outside with the boys.

That is until Jaden threw snow all over her. I would love to be in her head right now knowing what she is planning as revenge for a future date. Being a little sister myself, I have no doubt she will find a fun creative way to even the score with Jaden!

I thought it was great that the boys found out that you can utilize the trampoline in the winter too! At first I was worried about the net being missing, but then remembered that they had about a foot of cushion under them!

Jonathan decided to test it out...Jaden just watched...

The boys even played with the slide and tower!

Makayla sat in the same place for most of her time out in the snow. She did play with it a little, but I don't think she found it as fun as she thought she would...

Without a hill to sled down in our backyard, Jonathan got a great workout pulling Jaden!

And this is what our backdoor looks like after a Snow Day adventure!
